Winter is coming and the temperature is dropping. In an effort to battle the cold weather blues, we've provided you with a list of our favorite things to do with children in the Summit, NJ area this winter. Breakfast with Santa – Saturday, December 1, 2018
Children will enjoy a pancake breakfast followed by a chance to meet Santa himself. Families will have time to take photos with Santa. Seatings are at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The cost is $10 per family for members and $15 per family for nonmembers. Registration is required. Sponsored by the Summit Area YMCA

Make-Your-Own Christmas Ornament – Saturday, December 15, 2018
A free holiday workshop for children in pre-K through grade 3, featuring the story of "Mouse's Christmas Gift" by Mindy Baker! Following story time, children will create two handmade ornaments - one to bring home for their own tree and another to give to someone in need! A discussion and book signing for parents with Karen Fortunati, author of "The Weight of Zero," a story about a girl who has to deal not only with the standard pressures and stress of high school but also a much heavier weight – bipolar disorder. The story explores Catherine’s dark struggle to accept a diagnosis yet it is ultimately one of hope and resilience and finding support in the most unexpected places. Free and open to the public.
